Guests; on the 3rd day, give him a hoe.

Treat your guest as a guest for two days; on the third day, give him a hoe.

Lesson: When you are a guest in someone's house, even as "easy" as you think you are to entertain, you are still work. The host and family put in effort to make sure you're comfortable. If you are staying more than 2 days, make sure you go out of your way to help out. Buy groceries, change a lightbulb, pick up kid from soccer practice, etc. Don't be a burden.

And no, this has nothing to do with my little brother was just out visiting. Just a coincidence.

Is anything too hard for the Lord? Calvary 7/15 notes

Is anything too hard for the Lord?
A few of my notes from Calvary's 5:00 pm service.

Genesis 18: 1-15

Other words for the word "hard" - impossible, difficult......wonderful...
Is anything too wonderful for the Lord?

The story of Abraham and Sarah and waiting to be pregnant....
When the Lord says that Sarah will give birth to a son at this time next year, Sarah laughs. Remember Sarah is of very old age but it is promised to Sarah and Abraham that they will give birth.

So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, "After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?"  Genesis 18:12

Sidenote: Research shows that 80% of laughter has nothing to do with jokes but that of disbelief, fear, nervousness, etc.

Then the Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, 'Will I really have a child, now that I am old?'  Is there anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son."    Genesis 18: 13-14

Sarah and Abraham go on to have a son who they name Isaac.
Isaac means he laughs.

***************

In the story of the boy with the speech problems in Mark 9:20
The Father asks Jesus "Help us if you can..."
Jesus replies, "If you can?"

Lift your eyes to the Lord. Do not lower your expectations.

Old Green

I would much rather have a guy pick me up in this any day vs. a little sports car. For me, it speaks a lot more than a vehicle. This truck speaks true character, confidence and value.
By the way, a golden retriever in the passenger seat would be icing on the cake!

Appreciate the USA!!

"While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. "

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.

8 states in 2 weeks

This last week or two has been go-go-go!
For those of you who know me, I enjoy busyness......not 24/7 but I do enjoy traveling and being busy. Down time is just as important though.

So while in flight, I was thinking about how many states I was so blessed to visit over the past week.
June 19: Took off from LAX to Myrtle Beach with an Atlanta layover.
June 19 - 24: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
June 23: Traveled into North Carolina
June 25 - 28: Pigeon Forge, TN
June 28: Flew out of Knoxville, TN to LAX with another Atlanta layover
Made it into LAX by 9:00 pm, dropped Aubrey off, did laundry and packed for MN, did a 2 hour nap, caught up on company bills and made sure everything was in order at the house before leaving for LAX again.
Just 10 hours later, I was back at LAX flying out for Minnesota.
June 29: Took off from LAX to Fargo, ND with a layover in Salt Lake City.

#1: June 19: California
#2: June 19: Georgia
#3: June 20: South Carolina
#4: June 23: North Carolina
#5: June 24: Tennessee
(back to Atlanta and California)
#6: June 28: Utah
#7: North Dakota
#8: Minnesota

Now there's people that many more states than this every day but I am very fortunate to be traveling this much and seeing all these wonderful places!

Embracing discomfort....

I'm sitting down and watching Extreme Weight Loss with my Momma and Daddio tonight.
Client Mike starts out at 493 lb. In the beginning process during a work-out when Mike is only giving 75%, Trainer Chris Powell gets upset with his minimal efforts. Chris talks about Mike's work ethic.

Trainer Chris says, "People demand comfort. But you must embrace discomfort to get where you want to go."

Well said.

Never let a day...compliment...

Never let a day
go by without
giving at least
three people a
compliment.
