Family Sledding over Christmas Vacation
December 2009
I started this blog at age 24 when I, along with many my age are trying to figure out what to do with our lives. It seemed liked everyday lessons were shooting at me left and right and I couldn't record them fast enough. Believe me, this is a good problem to have. Whether it was a quote on a billboard, a good book read or an elderly man sitting next to me on a flight who had a meaningful lesson in a beautiful story, they were too good to only hold onto for 24 hours. I wanted to apply these lessons to future endeavors in my life and more importantly, I wanted to share them with my children someday. With the memory I have, I just had to get a better method of recording of these lessons! So Reason #1 for Blog: Blogging was a centrally located area where I could "stack" these lessons all together in a somewhat organized fashion. Although I intended this to be a place for me to come back and reflect on some of those lessons, I found myself sharing these life lessons with friends or family who came to me expressing distress where these lessons applied perfectly. #2: These lessons were intended for me to reflect on but I've found that it's been equally fun to share.

This was a preventative way from myself saying, "man, I wish I could remember the details of that story" or "hey, I just read a great book that you absolutely love on (topic A). I can't remember the author's name but I'll get it to you when I remember".
