The Purpose Driven Life expanded edition

What on Earth Am I Here For?
Day 37 | You Were Made for a Mission
Notes from 3/29/13
Women's Small Group Bible Study pages 287-294
DAY 37: SHARING YOUR LIFE MESSAGE

Your Life Message has 4 parts:

1.       Your testimony:  the story of how you began a relationship with Jesus

2.       Your life lessons:  the most important lessons God has taught you

3.       Your godly passions:  the issues God shaped you to care about most

4.       The Good News:  the message of salvation

“be ready to write out your testimony” – pg. 289

Divide it into four parts:

1.       What my life was like before I met Jesus

2.       How I realized I needed Jesus

3.       How I committed my life to Jesus

4.       The difference Jesus has made in my life

Make a list of all the problems, circumstances, and crises that God has brought you through.

Life Lessons: Lessons and insights you have learned about God, relationships, problems, temptations, and other aspects about life.

David prayed “God, teach me lessons for living so I can stay on the course.”

*Have someone read Psalm 119:33

Mature people develop the habit of extracting lessons from everyday experiences. I urge you to make a list of your life lessons.

Here’s a few questions to jog your memory and get you started:

·         What has God taught me from failure?

·         What has God taught me from lack  of money?

·         What has God taught me from pain or sorrow or depression?

·         What has God taught me through waiting?

·         What has God taught me through illness?

·         What has God taught me from disappointment?

·         What have I learned from my family, my church, my relationships, my small group, and my critics?

God uses passionate people to further his kingdom – pg. 291

You should not expect everyone else to be passionate about your passion.
Question to Consider: As I reflect on my personal story, who does God want me to share it with?

30 Challenges: Day 2

30 Challenges for 30 Days of Growth
April 2, 2013

2. Try one new thing every day. – Variety truly is the spice of life. You can see or do something a million times, but you can only see or do it for the first time once. As a result, first time experiences often leave reflective marks in our minds for the rest of our lives. Make an effort to try something new every day for the next 30 days. It can be a whole new activity or just a small experience, such as talking to a stranger. Once you get the ball rolling many of these new experiences will open doors to life changing opportunities.

what it's like to have 400 oak trees counting on you ...

stolen from google images
Last night as Adam Levine commented, "this is the most stressful thing I've had to go through" on The Voice, my father replies, "Haaa, he doesn't know stress until he knows what it's like to have 400 oak trees counting on you for their lives, waiting to be watered.....uphill both ways."

unbelievable. he's unbelievable.

Top Song Picks for March 2013

Songs most frequently playing in the Aurora over the last 2 weeks:

1. Next to Me (Kendrick Lamar Remix)   |   Emeli Sande
*I love the regular version just as much!

2. Beyonce   |   Love on Top
Aw Beyonce! Now I know this song has been around for a couple years but it just came back up again and it's a must have when you're feeling like car dancing!

3. Hunter Hayes   |   Somebodys Heartbreak
And again, why do people love country music? Always a story in the lyrics or describing exactly how you feel. This young artist reminds me so much of the Rascal Flatts. His song "Wanted" is also a new favorite. (remember new to me is usually 14 months behind everybody else)

4. Labrinth feat. Emeli Sande   |   Beneath Your Beautiful
Love this Emeli gal and stumbled upon this song on Youtube. Love it!

5. Wagon Wheel   |   Darius Rucker
A jukebox classic! I'm a huge fan of Darius Rucker + look whose featured on his music video - The infamous DUCK DYNASTY  gang! Nice touch!
